Portfoliositez.com Website and Template Services is a website design company that specializes in offering web solutions to artists and photographers. They are beginning to design a new template that will be launched in the next few months and they were looking for a photographer who's work they could use in the build of this "sample" website. I am beyond pleased to announce that they have chosen Kristen Morgan and LanierStar Photography as the next featured artist! I am very happy to work with a company that has quickly built a reputation for themselves as a business that cares about their customer's needs and provide exceptional customer service, which is something I feel very strongly about. You can see the announcement on their blog by clicking here. I will be sure to keep you all updated as to when they release the new template featuring my work. I will also be changing my website over to this company soon, so keep an eye out for a whole new LanierStar Photography coming your way!
Now, I'm going to go have a glass of champagne!

The wedding of Nick and Ashley

Here are some photographs from Nick & Ashley's wedding. It was held at Selva Marina Country Club in Atlantic Beach, FL. We had fantastic weather for the outdoor ceremony that ended at sunset. Just beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing your day with me!

a few of my favorite things
In an effort to blog more consistently (as if I needed something else to do- ha!) I thought I could occasionally list a few of my "favorite things". Here are some current ones-
Boar's Head Rosemary & Sun Dried Tomato Ham- my lunch meat of choice this week.
Eureka Electrolux Ergorapido 2-in-1 Sweeper- We have hardwood floors and this thing is a lifesaver. It's cordless! Love that about it. Also, there is a little handheld vac you can remove from it (that has attachments) for those little messes ( I love it for the car & high chair). Also, it is so stylish that even the charging station looks good. My only complaint is I can't dilly-dally while I vacuum the house or else the battery is dying before I finish and it takes awhile to recharge.
And of course my son, Jett, is one of my favorite things! He seems to say a new word or phrase every day. Sunday it was "Here I come!" and then he would run to me. Monday we ran errands all day and every time we would get to the car he'd ask, "Where keys?". Today the word of the day is "pickle", but it sounds like "bickle". haha. In honor of pickles Jett decided that was all he would eat for lunch. Ahhhhh. The diet of a toddler.

my daddy

I try my best to keep business and personal separate, but sometimes the two worlds can't help but collide. Recently we received some bad news regarding my father's health. He had throat cancer about 3 years ago. At his recent CT scan they found the cancer had returned. The first doctor (surgeon) he met with gave him almost no hope. The only option was to have his tongue removed, a feeding tube inserted and he might live a year. Obviously this was all very hard to take in.
My father was then able to speak with his first oncologist and she referred him to a colleague that has been having great results with clinical trials in this area. My father met with this new doctor and he gave my father information, options and most importantly, hope. It is going to be a battle, but my father now feels like it is one worth fighting.
We spent over a week out of town at my father's after his CT scan. This forced me to put a few clients on hold and we had some orders mail out late. Every one has been so supportive and understanding. I can't tell you how much the prayers, thoughts and vibes have meant. My dad said he could feel the love pouring in.
LanierStar Photography is now caught up. We are continuing to book for the 2008 wedding season, as well as portrait sessions. Look for some new photo blog posts coming soon- including some AMAZING beach wedding images! I am remaining positive that my Dad will make it through this and I thank all of you for being the best clients I could ever hope for!

all good things must come to an end

and with that i am referring to VACATION. we went to visit family last week, so i have been playing catch up on emails, orders & phone calls this week. we had the pleasure of taking our new boat out for a spin, so i thought i'd post a few photos.
and just because you're never too old to humiliate your little brother- here's a photo of him right before his tube flipped over. love ya' Bud!
my son stole my dad's hat and wanted to see how it looked on me-
i have more clients pictures that i'll try to get up in the next few days. hope you had a nice Memorial Day!
