I try my best to keep business and personal separate, but sometimes the two worlds can't help but collide. Recently we received some bad news regarding my father's health. He had throat cancer about 3 years ago. At his recent CT scan they found the cancer had returned. The first doctor (surgeon) he met with gave him almost no hope. The only option was to have his tongue removed, a feeding tube inserted and he might live a year. Obviously this was all very hard to take in.
My father was then able to speak with his first oncologist and she referred him to a colleague that has been having great results with clinical trials in this area. My father met with this new doctor and he gave my father information, options and most importantly, hope. It is going to be a battle, but my father now feels like it is one worth fighting.
We spent over a week out of town at my father's after his CT scan. This forced me to put a few clients on hold and we had some orders mail out late. Every one has been so supportive and understanding. I can't tell you how much the prayers, thoughts and vibes have meant. My dad said he could feel the love pouring in.
LanierStar Photography is now caught up. We are continuing to book for the 2008 wedding season, as well as portrait sessions. Look for some new photo blog posts coming soon- including some AMAZING beach wedding images! I am remaining positive that my Dad will make it through this and I thank all of you for being the best clients I could ever hope for!

I'll keep you and your father in my prayers, hope is sometimes the best cure!
Hi, Kristen,
I am Leon Cauthen's cousin, Sue Allen, and I am praying for your father. Seeing the pictures of him here brought tears to my eyes; they also strengthened my memory of his face so I can visualize him more strongly. Thank you.
You have real talent. I think, especially, your people photos and I've never seen pictures better--actually, maybe not as good--as your stunning shots of children.
I'm with commenter, Wendy updegraff: HOPE is everything!
Bless you all.
